Harkening back to the days of the Mexican Revolution when El Pasoans would climb to the top of what was then the Hotel Paso Del Norte in Downtown to drink beer and watch nearby gun battles, El Pasoans will once again gather to watch a spectacle of historical import.

This one will take eight seconds and kick off what city officials hope will be an economic revolution radiating from Downtown El Paso.

The demolition of City Hall at precisely 9 a.m. on Sunday, April 14 will be a one-time event, and some local businesses and a non-profit say there is no way they are going to let a good demolition go to waste.
