CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla.--Two spacewalking astronauts performed wrist surgery Thursday on the international space station's 58-foot robot arm.
"The O.R. is ready," Mission Control informed Franklin Chang-Diaz and Philippe Perrin before they set out to replace the wrist joint 240 miles above Earth.
***Marcia, don't worry. You're still the champ when it comes to stupidly constructed space-shuttle stories.***
[ June 13, 2002: Message edited by: blanp ]

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP)--Two spacewalking astronauts successfully performed wrist surgery Thursday on the international space station's 58-foot robot arm, replacing an arthritic joint.
"Time to wake up the patient and see how the big arm's doing after surgery,‘ Mission Control said following the repairs by Franklin Chang-Diaz and Philippe Perrin.
***That's a LOT better, Marcia. Thanks.***
[ June 13, 2002: Message edited by: blanp ]
