Blanp, this is from your own paper's web site:
*After Bush entered, the crowd recited the Pledge of Allegiance, shouting out the words "under God!" in defiance of the unpopular ruling by an appellate court panel last week that such words in the pledge were unconstitutional.*
Do you disapprove of "unconstitutional" in this context? If so, I'd like to hear why. I'm sure I've heard the explanation before, but it escapes me now.

The pledge, with or without "under God," was not ruled unconstitutional. What the three-judge panel found unconstitutional is its recitation in a public school.

Praying in school has never been outlawed. Prayer in school sanctioned by the state and forced upon students has been.
[ July 04, 2002: Message edited by: Tim Hathcock ]
