If I see one more business story that describes a hospital in financial trouble as being in "critical condition" or "ailing" -- or one more headline saying the same thing -- I swear I'm going to flatline.
ugh.

Don't I know it. Some newspapers unfortunately love to regurgitate these cliché puns, seemingly oblivious to how tired everyone is of reading them.
Airline stories are the worst. Profits and stock prices always "take off" and "soar," or, in bad times, "hit turbulence." When I was working at the Anchorage Daily News, an unwritten rule was that any story on a telecom that made money had to have a headline saying "rings up profit." (This was in the late '90s, when telecoms still made money.) It was enough to make you want to puke.
