"Disingenuous" is an overused word but it describes perfectly the letter from the Sioux Falls, S.D., Argus Leader editor "explaining" how his Page One story Tuesday about Sen. Thomas A. Daschle's impending presidential campaign was correct:
http://www.argusleader.com/news/Wednesdayarticle2.shtml<p>My favorite part is where Daschle changes his mind just as the Argus Leader presses roll.<p>Experienced wire editors who dutifully plow through the Gannett News Service file before spiking everything in it will notice an especially galling fallacy in the letter.<p>
Incidentally, the most amusing headline on the page in question
[HERE] is on a sidebar: "'Don't ever underestimate Daschle,' McGovern says."<p>[ January 08, 2003: Message edited by: blanp ]</p>
