**Paragraph 1**
JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Palestinian militants killed 13 Israeli reserve soldiers in an ambush in the Jenin refugee camp in the West Bank on Tuesday, the heaviest single blow to the Israeli army in 18 months of bloodshed.
**Paragraph 15**
Witnesses said dozens of corpses of Palestinians killed in the fighting remained in the streets and only a few ambulances had managed to enter the camp to evacuate the wounded.
**The dead Palestinians are not quite important enough to mention up high or tally up.**

According to AP's actuarial tables, 10 Palestinians = 1 Israeli. And roughly infinity Palestinians = 1 American.
A corollary observation: I have heard on several occasions that Israel has lost more citizens to terrorism, proportionally, than the U.S. did on 9/11. I'm not aware that anyone has done the math for Palestinians killed in Israeli reprisals.
But I wonder if the the media are biased against Palestinians. In this latest war, at least, it's Israel that seems to be losing the PR battle.

Certainly since 9/11 I've been inclined to believe the worst about Islamic fanatics.
But the more I learn about Israeli tactics in Palestine the more I respect the grievances of the Palestinians.
I don't know the exact ratio but it seems very clear that the Israelis are dishing out far more damage than they're receiving.

Be fair: Later in that same story (which happened to appear on one of my pages), they said that at least 41 Palestinians were killed, and that medics said the death count could not be confirmed because they were still working to remove bodies from the street.

Safe to say we've entered a time in which it's impossible to report the truth without seeming to take sides.
It hasn't escaped my notice that mideast unrest has a salutory effect on oil prices, and that we've had two oil-state governors and two mideast wars in the past 12 years. Not that there are any dots to connect here or anything.
