It also comes amid growing concern about the nation’s obesity epidemic and recent data suggesting 15 percent of U.S. youngsters are severely overweight or obese, defined as having a body-mass index greater than 95 percent of their peers.<p>***Apparently that extra mass adds more than we thought.

While it was a study on obesity, the main findings of the study were that obese children seem to have far lower self-esteem and quality of life rating (according to themselves) than relatively healthier-weight children. <p>Given that the author's expertise is in children and problems with their stomach, and the AP story failed to mention any supporting team, why was so much creedence given to his findings about children's psychology?
