NYT: Hours before the report was relayed here by Yonhap, South Korea's semiofficial news agency, South Korea's newly appointed ambassador to the United States predicted that talks with North Korea on the nuclear crisis would devolve into a "long, arduous process" with no certainty of success or even an understanding of what the North wants. <p>*Is this use of "devolve" now acceptable? My dictionary still doesn't give this definition. AP offers no guidance.*
