From the Toronto Star. (04/23/03)
Cabbie's vest didn't save him
Good Samaritan killed despite bulletproof garb
Veteran cabbie Mohamad Nakib Arbaji wore a bulletproof vest to protect him from gun-toting passengers. But it couldn't save the 53-year-old taxi driver when he tried to stop the bandit who robbed his favourite variety store. Arbaji — known to friends as Mo — was shot in the face, neck and arm Monday night when he walked in on a robbery at the Daisy Mart store in Scarborough's Malvern Marketplace...
(A pair of boxer shorts would be no more useful to someone shot in the head.)
[ April 23, 2003: Message edited by: canuck ]
