WASHINGTON (AP) - It was the day the war turned ugly for the allies fighting it, the leaders running it and anyone who saw the images at home.<p>***Wars start ugly, continue ugly, and end ugly. The only thing that turned Sunday was my stomach. This lede did not help.***

No matter what one thinks of this war, it's absurd to say that the death and destruction that have occurred on both sides since Wednesday are "all right." And I suspect that hundreds of thousands of protesters worldwide think things were not "all right." Sunday was just a particularly bad day in a particularly bad time. If this is what AP is passing off as "news analysis," I will just have to let my readers draw their own conclusions.***
